Marty Luster re-joined Schlather, Stumbar, Parks, & Salk, LLP, "of counsel" in December 2005, following his retirement as Ithaca City Attorney. He embodies the commitment to social justice to which the firm aspires and we are honored to be affiliated with him.
Marty's nearly four decades in the Ithaca area include 14 years of service in the New York State Assembly, as well as prior legal practice in criminal and civil litigation, both in solo practice and as a partner to Jim Salk.
Marty remains active in a variety of local initiatives and projects. He serves as co-editor of the nonprofit quarterly publication Positive News, which highlights success stories of peace, sustainability, social equality, education, and happiness. He is a regular guest at the Firehouse, a monthly citizens' symposium of contemporary issues in Trumansburg, NY. He also comments frequently in local media on local and national issues including universal health care, responsible government, and environmental protection.
Marty's family has resided in Trumansburg, NY, since 1976, when they arrived from New York City, where Marty also had practiced law.
